CableCard HDHomeRun Beta Recruitment

One of the more interesting HTPC solutions, the SilicondDust HDHomeRun CableCard device is now accepting signups for their beta  according to their forums:

The beta is moving ahead as planned… beta signup now online!

As mentioned earlier this year, SiliconDust’s HDHR CableCard device is interesting because it appears to be coming in a USB version AND a networked version. The networked version should work much like the current HDHomeRun QAM tuners — meaning it will require no open “port” on your computer.

  1. Wow – I’d consider likely buy one of these – of course, if the price is right.

Still, if I could buy this and get a cable card and then watch HD video on my mac throughout my house… I’m pretty well sold..

  2. I signed up yesterday. I’m willing to give it a go. Didn’t commit to the Ceton yet at this point.

  3. Doh, looks like they’ve closed the door on applications after hitting 1000+. Ah well, beta testing can be hard work. I’ve got enough projects. :)

  4. Nick/Jafa has always been a tireless worker, going back to his TiVo addon boards. I was lucky enough to work with him on the TiVo cachecards for the series 1.
These are very lucky beta testers who will get constant fixes and improvements.
