  1. Low Credibility Until TiVo Has UltraViolet and Embraces The Future

TiVo being in bed with the cable operators actually slows down what could be a faster move towards the future of television for TiVo customers and the industry. Digital rights sharing service Ultraviolet is a strong facilitator of streaming anywhere video, like we see with music, but TiVo has not yet embraced it while many others have. If it wasn’t for TiVo’s relationship with the old cable operator model, they certainly would have one or more UltraViolet capable apps, such as VUDU, MGO or Flixster, on the Roamio and maybe the Premiere. I hope they fully embrace the future soon by getting an open Ultraviolet streaming service on their boxes.
