  1. I’ll check the Indy stores during lunch. They were working on the new shelving at the Target near my house…maybe they’ve completed it.

  2. Sonos reached out a week or so ago about briefing me under NDA/embargo this week… I assume this was the topic, but I’ve declined most press olive branches of late – it’s generally more chill to operate independently. Not to mention, the briefing was in NYC (whereas several prior Sonos press tours included DC) and I wasn’t making the trek.

Anyhow, we better get to Target and check this out before the Sonos Sales Team has Target hide the units (unless announcement is later today)! Also, if we do pick them up, we should assume the apps may not be ready to connect… They Play:1 is obviously for small rooms, stereo pairs, or rear channels for the Playbar. BUT does it also include a rechargeable battery? That would make them more interesting (and competitive in the small Bluetooth speaker category).

  3. If the Play:1 includes rechargeable battery, WiFi, and Bluetooth, consider it sold! But I think that’s wishful thinking. :-(

  4. FYI – I went to get one; they have a no-sell date until 13 Oct as I found at checkout. They were sending people back to pull them off the shelves before I left the store.
