I guess it takes a minimum of 4 chumps for the blogging... Also, I am amazed at this guy's ability to time the scanning of the History channel show at 2.97 seconds. What kind of timer did he use for this? Was this a double-blind test? By the way, seeing how I work in the industry and all, I must say I was thoroughly impressed that he has tested EVERY DVR. You know, he must have logged some serious miles travelling to the various regions where FIOS and Moxi are deployed, not to mention keeping a Philips TiVo and a Panasonic Showstopper around just to do his accurate comparison. I have used the 622 and was not that impressed (though the HD Tivo is apathetically slow speed is not everything). The one point I think is valid though is DISH is really lining up the HD content, way more then anyone else. Comcast in my area (Sunnyvale) is simple pathetic, you get the locals rebroadcast and a couple pay channels, that's it. Direct Tv with OTA actually game me a bunch more, sorry I switched some times, but comcast is considerable cheaper and no huge ass upfront fee's. Smells like some sort of viral marketing campaign.

Figuring out a couple of weeks ago that I was never going to be able to use a Series3 meant that I've been contemplating my options. DISH's DVR isn't perfect, and I won't like it as much as my TiVo, but if my choices are keep using my TiVo and losing out on HD, or get an HD DVR and lose out on the TiVo experience, I may have to lean toward the latter for the long term.
